This is a folio of photos and correspondence sent by Pedro Dot to Ralph Moore decades ago. I will be scanning these documents and formatting them into an article soon. These photos are unique and of great historical importance. I look forward to making them available to my readers.
That will be extremely interesting to rose lovers and hybridizer-admirers like me.
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that Sr. Dot worked without plant patents to protect his work.
I look forward to it. I been looking forward to finding out some of the things about Ralph Moore you had or stories and ectra. So has some one translated the papers for you. I assume they were in spanish. Dot was pretty amazing in his own right.
ReplyDeleteI'm also looking forward to reading the documentation. I know that it's a lot of hard work, but I think we are all looking forward to the results!
ReplyDeleteI think someone like you should write a biography on Mr Moore with these kinds of things in it... If you and Kim were to team up it would be an amazing and a fitting tribute. With your photographic skills and eloquence, and Kim's wealth of stories it would quickly become a rose classic. You could call it 'Touchstone' :)
ReplyDeleteI also suggested this to Paul in another post Simon. Jim could also add to this book. I would be interested in hearing the stories and you could add pictures of his roses and descriptions to fill it out. I think it would sell fairly well. It would catch both people who are interested in gardening, roses and biographies. But books do take a lot of work.
