Greenhouse cleanup continues

This is the main "stud house" where the majority of the breeding plants are concentrated. Every year a few plants get retired from service and a few new cultivars are brought into service. Right now I am finishing up the removal of last year's foliage and getting weeds pulled. (damned Oxalis!) this week I am seeing new foliage on a few things in this house. It's barely February!!!

  1. I once had a job at the university where 50% of my time was spent getting rid of oxalis. It is amazing how it can take over so well. The seeds can really launch out of those seed pods. Good luck with that I do not envy you on that one. The two best treatments we had was a butane torch and shoaking in salt water, but we were working with salt marsh grass and I do not think that would work with roses.

  2. I don't think there is much I can do but persist in removing it as it happens, with emphasis on pulling them before they set seed. Good luck with that, I know lol.
